Matt Binder on how the Left and Right are split on support for Israel

Inside Israel is a completely separate matter, but here in the U.S. at least, this support for Israel, at this point in the year 2023, this no-strings-attached support for Israel no matter what, is almost an entirely right-wing project.  Poll after poll after poll clearly shows that the Democratic base - and even Independents - do not support Israel in the way that our politicians, whether they be Republican or Democrat, think.  80% of Democrats, I saw in the latest poll, are calling for a ceasefire.  This is not that difficult to understand, that this is a right-wing position here in the U.S., in the UK, in a lot of countries to be quite honest.
