Phil Duffy on civilization and what is at stake

We are at the fork in the road as a nation.  If we take the left fork, the nation (and the world) will be plunged into economic chaos and the certainty of war. Freedom will have vanished, replaced by Big Brother and socialist tyranny. On the other hand, if COVID-19 abates and the necessary work of objective critique is quickly undertaken, the fatal conceit that government can defeat every new virus that is born while exercising total control over our lives will be revealed as an absurdity. The inherent strength of the free market and the desire for human freedom will triumph. That is the right road for humanity.
