Paul Craig Roberts on the tragedy of American education

What we are dealing with is not only the brainwashing of white students as to the evil origin of their country and their inherited guilt, but also their inability to think rationally and to make an objective conclusion from evidence. This was once the purpose of education, but no more. Today students are taught that their emotions are what is true, and their emotions are manipulated by the lies that they are taught. 

This perversity of education spells the end of the United States. The kind of people American education is producing are not capable of scientific thinking. The kind of education Americans receive today cannot produce scientists or engineers. We have the emotive generation, people trained to be guided by emotion. 

The inability of American education to produce people capable of thought is already our reality. We see it in the huge number of work visas in which foreigners, largely from Asia, are brought into the US to do the jobs American educated youth cannot do.

Universities are unsafe places for white males. Faculty and staff live in fear of baseless accusations that can destroy their careers and their financial lives. White male students are routinely graded down by feminist and black professors and cannot complain as all complaints are regarded as proof that the white male is a misogynist and a racist. Identity politics is the ideology that prevails in universities, the media, Democrat Party, and increasingly in the corporate work place. Identity politics deprives the white male of any basis for complaint because it identifies the white male as everyone else’s victimizer. Everyone is his victim. As he is the oppressor, he can never be supported, only denounced.

Paul Craig Roberts: George Floyd died from a drug overdose

The entire world has seen this picture [of police officer Chauvin with his knee on George Floyd's neck] and had it interpreted for them by a lazy, incompetent, and dishonest American media without any regard to evidence or the medical examiner’s report. The official story is that Floyd died from suffocation resulting from the pressure of Chauvin’s knee on Floyd’s neck.

Much has been made of the police removing Floyd from the squad car where they had him safely ensconced and placing him on his stomach in the street so they could kill him.

We all saw it with our own eyes, so we know it is true. But it isn't.

As the medical examiner’s report shows, Floyd’s blood indicates a fatal dose of fentanyl, a killer opioid. The police are not medics or toxicologists, but they sensed that Floyd had a problem far beyond passing fake $20 bills and questioned him. When they got Floyd in the police car to take him for booking, he said “I can’t breathe” and “I want to lay on the ground.”

Chauvin, a more experienced officer, realized Floyd was in trouble. The police acceded to Floyd’s request, removed him from the car, and put him on the ground as requested. The police put him on his stomach because one effect of a fentanyl overdose is nausea and the police did not want Floyd to choke to death on his own vomit.

Floyd was restrained so that he did not flail about using what little oxygen he was getting prior to the arrival on the scene of medics. The police were trying to prolong his life until the medics arrived.
