Ryan Detrick: "This bear market may bottom soon"

If a full-blown crisis and recession such as in 2000-2002 and 2008-09 can be avoided, this bear market may bottom soon.  [With over half of the last five bear markets ending in three months or less,] “the current bear market may be closer to a bottom than many expect.  How this bear market will end will likely hinge on the pace at which inflation comes down, which will dictate the timing and magnitude of the Federal Reserve’s rate hiking campaign.

Ryan Detrick on Fed tapering

I think investors can live with tapering because everyone knows it's going to happen and it's been talked about so much.  But knowing rates are going to stay a little bit lower for longer, that's that cherry on top with an economy that overall still improving.

Ryan Detrick (Schaefer's): More reasons to be bullish than bearish

There are definitely concerns out there, and we can't simply ignore them. A slowdown in China or more issues in Europe could put a major stop to the bull market, but overall, we continue to feel there are still more reasons to be bullish than bearish for longer-term investors. In the near term, some continuation of the recently choppy price action could occur -- but eventually, that will give way to higher prices, as the dour outlooks on the economy and stock market will once again be proven too gloomy.
